C. VIBIUS C.F.C.N. Pansa Caetronianus, (48 B.C.), silver denarius, Rome mint, (3.72 grams), obv. Mask of Pan, PANSA below, rev. Jupiter Anxurus seated to left, [C].VIBIVS C.F.C.[N]. behind and IOVIS AXVR before, (S.420, Cr.449/1, Syd.948, B.Vibia 18). Hairline die crack, otherwise bright, nearly extremely fine with a spectacular head of Pan, scarce, with collector's ticket.
The representation of the youthful Jupiter Anxurus suggests that the Vibia gens originally dwelt at Anxur (Tarracina). There was a temple dedicated to the young Jupiter in that town.
