MARYSE BASTI‚, French woman air ace (1898-1952), signature on paper affixed to card and laminated photo and biography of Maryse Basti‚. Good very fine.

Maryse Basti‚ set several international flying records for women in the 1930s including a record flight across the South Atlantic. She founded her own flying school and also served in the French Air Force, attaining the rank of Captain. The French Government conferred on her the award of the Legion of Honour. She was killed when her plane crashed during take off on 6 July 1952 at Lyon.
