SIMON BOLIVAR, document (31.5cm x 20cm) printed and hand written appointing De Pedro Antonio La Fosse as Secretary of the Tribunal of the Consulate, February 8, 1825, marked with the seal of the Provisional Government of Peru and signed by the President, Simon Bolivar. Moderate storage folds, a few small pin holes and fold separations, light paper loss to top and bottom edges, writing and signatures clear and bold, fine condition.
Together with Letter of Authenticity of PSA/DNA Authentication Services and Certificate of Authenticity from R & R Enterprises Autograph Auctions. Simon Bolivar, one of South America’s greatest generals. His victories over the Spanish won independence for Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Panama, Peru and Venezuela. He is called El Liberator (The Liberator) and regarded as the ’George Washington of South America’. This document was signed shortly after Peru’s independence was proclaimed in December 1824. Ex R R Auctions, catalogue 303 (Nov 2005) lot 220, realised US$1,274 with buyer’s premium.
