T.R.H'S The Duke & Duchess of York's Visit to the Colonies 1901, in silver (34mm), by E. Fuchs, with ornate silver surround, ring top and ribbon with bar suspension (cf.BHM 3722; Whittlestone & Ewing 4035). Extremely fine and rare, probably a presentaion piece.

The Duke and Duchess of York visited the principal colonies of the British Empire (including Australia and New Zealand but not India) in 1901, aboard the H.M.S. Ophir. The total distance covered was 45,000 miles and took eight months. This particular medal turned up in New Zealand.
