MACEDON, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.93 grams), Babylon mint, issued 311-305 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin with dotted border, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, to left MI, MTP within wreath below throne, **BASILEWS* in exergue, **ALEXANDROU* to right, (cf.S.6713, Price 3752, BMC 3752, M.735). Very fine.
