BOIOTIA, Thebes, silver obol, by magistrate Theot[i], issued 363-348 B.C., (0.77 grams), obv. Boiotian shield, decorated with a club to left across upper half, rev. **QE* to righ downwards on lower right in concave field, to right the youthful head of Herakles wearing a lion skin headress, (S.240.1, BCD 548 [Triton IX similar dies], Head Boeotia p.68, Pl.V, 6 = BMC 169 [p.84, Pl.XV, 10], SNG Lockett 1751 [Pl.XXXII], SNG Cop. 354-5 [Pl.7], McClean 5612-4 [p.325. Pl.202, 12], Toned, very fine and rare.
