TIBERIUS, (A.D. 14-37), silver denarius, Lugdunum mint, issued A.D. 14-37, (3.59 grams), obv. laureate head of Tiberius to right, around TI CAESAR DIVI AVG F AVGVSTVS, rev. PONTIF MAXIM, Livia seated to right, with vertical sceptre and branch, (S.1763, RIC 26, BMC 34, H.916 [304]). Round and well centred with old deep toning, very fine and scarce.

Ex Noble Numismatics sale 84, lot 2014 and Antiquarius, New Zealand with their ticket. Of Biblical importance as the issue is often described as the Tribute Penny (Mark 12: 14-17).
