SEVERUS ALEXANDER, (A.D.222-235), silver denarius, issued A.D. 222, Rome mint, (3.50 grams), obv. laureate bust to right, draped and cuirassed, around IMP C M AVR SEV ALEXAND AVG, rev. P M TR P COS P P, Jupiter standing left holding thunderbolt and sceptre, (S.7891, RIC 5, RSC 204). Struck slightly off centre, otherwise superb extremely fine, lustrous.
