DIOCLETIAN, (A.D. 284-305), silver argentius, Rome mint, 1st emission, issued A.D. c.294, (2.74 grams), obv. laureate head of Diocletian to right, around DIOCLET IANVS AVG, rev. around VIRTVS MILITVM, plain exergue, four emperors in front of camp gate, (S.12617, RIC 27a, RSC 516a). Flan crack above head, otherwise attractively toned, extremely fine and very rare.
