DEPARTURE OF TROOPS FOR SOUDAN, 1885, in bronze (38mm) by Evan Jones, overstruck on NSW First International Exhibition medal (C.1879-80/3) with obverse legend showing behind Kaiser-I-Hind portrait, reverse, same as C.1879-80/3 with standing figure surrounded by symbols. Unlisted, good very fine and extremely rare.

This medal is interesting because it links the 'Kaiser-I-Hind' die, listed as maker unknown by Carlisle, to Evan Jones.
