NEW SOUTH WALES, five shillings or holey dollar, 1813, struck on a Charles IIII, Mexico City Mint eight reales, 1799FM (dies B/4: II/6, Mira-Noble 1799/3). Countermarked T.Knight on the obverse, original coin worn, countermarks particularly clear on both sides, good - very good and very rare, especially with the T.Knight countermark.

Ex private collection in New Zealand, Spink Australia Sale 21, March 1987 (lot 791) and W.T (Bill) Parish Collection (bought from M.R.Roberts per Barrie Winsor with their ticket). T.Knight is believed to have been an English bullion dealer (see Withers p266 'British Coin Weights') only eight examples known (see CAB Magazine, June 1999, p8).
