NETHERLANDS, Utrecht, trade coinage, ducat, 1724 (KM.7). Very fine.

All known 1724 ducats are from the wreck of the Dutch VOC ship, the Akerendam, built in 1724 and sank off the coast of Norway on 8 March 1725. The wreck was not located until 30 July 1972. Together with letter of history and sales docket dated 23 October 1972 from IDL European Antiques, Lane Crawford House, Hong Kong.
