CELTIC, Danube Region, Imitation of Thasos, (c.1st century B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.19 grams), obv. head of young Dionysos to right, wearing ivy wreath, rev. Herakles standing facing, head right, holding club and lion's skin crude monogram before and mixed letters around. (S.212, Dembski Munzen der Kelten 1509, cf.Lanz 972). Toned, uneven flan, otherwise nearly very fine.
