ITALY, Calabria, Tarentum (Taras), (4th-3rd century B.C.), silver diobol, (1.24 gm), obv. head of Athena to right wearing crested Corinthian helmet, ornamented with Skylla, rev. Herakles standing to right strangling a lion, behind him a club above TAP[..], between legs **D*, (S.351, Vlasto 1289, SNG ANS 1385). Well centred, extremely fine and very rare as such.
