CARIA, Uncertain, (Before 440 BC), silver third Siglos, (1.03 gm), obv. confronted foreparts of two bulls, horns crossed, rev. forepart of bull left, within incuse square, (cf.Troxell 'Carians in Miniature' Mildenberg 11A, cf.SNG Finland 911ff, Pozzi 2550 var. (bull butting right, attributed to Samos), Weber 6291 var. (same), Troxell Kagan 1). Lightly toned, mild surface pitting, otherwise good very fine and rare.
