BABYLONIA, Babylon, Macedonian period during and after Alexander the Great, (328-311 B.C.) silver drachm, (4.13 gm), obv. Baal enthroned to left resting on sceptre, thymiaterion before him, M in left field, rev. lion walking to left, linear border, **LU* monogram in exergue, all within dotted border, (S.6144, type described in Num. Chr. 1884 VI, 8 [p.133 and noted as described by M.Imhoof-Blumer Monn Grecq p.377-8, n.1-38, Mitchiner Indo Greeks type 6 f). Very fine and rare.
