ROMAN REPUBLIC, (c.265-242 B.C.), AE Aes Grave sextans (52.20 gm), obv. Tortoise, rev. six-spoked wheel, with pellets between wheel, (S.555, Thurlow-Vecchi 35; Crawford 24/7; Haeberlin Pl. 25, 17). Very fine, dark green patina and exceptional for issue, rare.
