MN. FONTEIUS C.F., (85 B.C.), silver denarius, Rome mint, (3.11 gm), obv. Vejovis laureate head to right, MN FONTE[I CF] behind, monogram of Roma below chin, thunderbolt below head, rev. infant winged Genius seated on goat, caps of dioscuri above, thyrsus below, all within laurel wreath, (S.271, Cr.353/1c, Syd.724a, RSC Fonteia 9). Slight pitting, otherwise very fine, scarce.

Ex Noble Numismatics Sale 96 (lot 5157). In the temple of Vejovis in Rome there was a statue of a goat bearing a winged genius. This coin recalls that mounted child.
