SYRIA, Kingdom of, Tigranes II of Armenia, (95-56 B.C.) AE 16, (3.34 grams), Artaxata mint, obv. bust of Tigranes wearing Armenian tiara with star and eagles to right, rev. Herakles-Vahagn standing left holding club and lion's skin, **BASILEWS BASILEWN TIGRANOU* to left and right, in upper field **D*, (S.7209, Bedoukian 99-102, Lindgren III, 963). Toned, very fine and rare.
