T. MANLIUS MANCIUS, Appius Claudius Pulcher and Q. Urbinius, (111-110 B.C.), silver denarius, Rome mint, (3.78 grams), obv. Roma helmeted head to right, quadrangular device containing circle behind, rev. Victory in triga to right, [T].MAL AP CL Q VR in exergue, (S.176, Cr.299/1b, Syd.570a, Mallia 2). Bright, areas of light surface pitting, otherwise good very fine / nearly extremely fine.

The three horse chariot (triga) is very rarely depicted on the Republican coinage. This coin and that of C.Naevius Balbus three decades later are the only known examples.
