L. SENTIUS, (101 B.C.), silver denarius, Rome mint, (3.71 grams), obv. Roma helmeted head right, ARG PVB behind, rev. Jupiter in quadriga to right, L.SENTI.C.F. in exergue, E above, (S.203, Cr.325/1a, Syd.600a, RSC Sentia 1a). Bright, struck on a broad flan, banker's marks on obverse, otherwise nearly extremely fine.

The legend ARG PVB translates as 'struck from the public silver' and indicates that the coin was produced from metal withdrawn from the state's bullion reserves.
