CARACALLA, (A.D. 198-217), silver denarius, issued 216, Rome mint, (3.12 grams), obv. laureate draped bust to right of Caracalla, around ANTONINVS PIVS AVG GERM, rev. Venus standing to left, holding sceptre, resting on shield, around VENVS VICTRIX, (S.6890, RIC 311b, RSC 606). Lightly toned, well centred, extremely fine.
