JULIA MAESA, grandmother of Elagabalus, (A.D. 218-222, d.225), silver denarius, Rome mint, (3.29 grams), obv. draped bust of Julia Maesa to right, around IVLIA MAESA AVG, rev. IVNO, Juno veiled standing half left, holding patera and sceptre, (S.7750, RIC 254, C.16, BMC 67). Toned with golden highlights, extremely fine and scarce.
