PROBUS, (A.D. 276-282), base silver antoninianus, Rome mint (2.52 grams), obv. radiate cuirassed bust to right of Probus, around IMP PROB VS AVG, rev. emperor on horseback to left, spurning captive, around ADVEN TVS AVG, in exergue R crescent S, (S.11953, RIC 157, C.39); another, Lugdunum mint, (3.33 grams), issued 277, obv. IMP C M AVR PROBVS AVG, radiate cuirassed bust right, rev. MARS VICTOR, Mars walking right, III in exergue, (cf.S.12071, RIC 38). Good fine, scarce. (2)
