CARACALLA, (A.D. 198-217), silver denarius, issued 196-9, Rome mint, (3.300 grams), obv. laureate draped bust to right of Caracalla, around IMP CAES M AVR ANTON AVG, rev. Securitas seated to right, on throne, holding sceptre, around SECURIT ORBIS, (cf.S.6885, RSC 571B, RIC 22[a]). Light golden obverse peripheral tone, extremely fine and scarce.
