THESSALY, Thessalian League, (196-146 B.C.), silver stater, (5.91 gm), Larissa mint, Androsthenes and Aristokles magistrates, obv. head of Zeus to right, crowned with oak leaves, behind **[EPI ANDRO SQENOUS]*, rev. Athena Itonia advancing to right, brandishing spear and holding shield, on sides **QESSA LWN*, above spear and across central field **A RIS TO KL HS*, (cf.S.2232, McClean 4858, cf.SNG Cop. 292, BCD Triton XV, 873.5). Bright, good very fine or better and scarce.
