BOIOTIA, Thebes, (c.426-395 B.C.), silver hemidrachm (2.12 gm), obv. Boiotian shield, rev. kantharos with club above, **QE*-BH across lower field, all in incuse square. (S.2385, Head, Boeotia p.36-37, class g, pl.III, 9, BMC p.76, 78, Pl. XIII, 16, SNG Cop. 290, BCD 412 [Triton IX]); another, (2.27 gm), obv. Boiotian shield, rev. kantharos with club above, **Q*-EB across lower field, all in incuse square. (S.2385, Head, Boeotia p. 36-37, class g, pl. III, 7, BMC p.75, Pl. XIII, 10, SNG Cop. 289, BCD 408 [Triton IX]). Both toned, slight surface pitting, otherwise fine - nearly very fine and very rare. (2)
First coin ex BCD, Triton IX, 2006, lot 412 and Glendinnings, 1982. Second coin ex BCD purchased 1994. With detailed tickets.
