SICILY, Syracuse, time of Agathokles, (317-289 B.C.), electrum twenty five (25) litrai, (1.82 g), issued during the Carthaginian War c.310 B.C., obv. laureate head of Apollo head with long flowing to left, rev. **SUR[AK] SION* around, lyre with five strings, (S.958, Jenkins 'Electrum Coinage of Syracuse' Essays Robinson, p.155 (Pl.14), BMC 266ff, McLean 2778). Nearly very fine and rare.
