Q. POMPONIUS MUSA, (c.66 B.C.), silver denarius, Rome mint, (3.80 g), obv. Apollo laureate head to right, crossed flutes behind head, rev. Euterpe, the Muse of Lyric Poetry, standing to right, holding two flutes (tibiae) and resting elbow on column, Q. POMPON[I] on left, MVS[A] on right, (S.355, Cr.410/5, Syd.815, B. Pomponia 13). Toned, off centre on obverse and reverse, otherwise good fine and very rare.
