SEPTIMIUS SEVERUS, (A.D. 193-211), silver denarius, Emesa mint, issued A.D. 194-5, (3.57 g), obv. laureate head of Septimius Severus to right, around IMP CAE L SEP SEV PERT AVG COS II, rev. around VICT AVG, Victory advancing left, holding wreath and palm, (cf.S.6376, RIC 424, RSC 675a); Maximinus, (A.D. 235-238), AE sestertius, Rome mint, (18.35 g), issued 236-238, obv. IMP MAXIMINVS PIVS [AVG], laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right of Maximinus, rev. SALVS AVGVSTI, Salus seated to left feeding snake rising from altar, S C in exergue, (S.8338, RIC 85, C.92). Some toning, fine - nearly very fine. (2)
