CHINA, Probably from the Tang Dynasty (7-9th century), a bronze square mirror (115mm square, 8mm high), with four horseman and assorted other symbols within the field including dragon, horse, deer, boar? all as part of the original casting, the surrounding ramp or edge ornamented with insects etc., In the centre is an attached ring to support the mirror. Covered by a pleasing black patina, it boasts a very refined craftsmanship and is of beautiful appearance.
Claimed as aquired from Crows Auction Gallery at Dorking, Surrey in the UK.
