GROUP OF FOUR: 1914-15 Star; British War Medal 1914-18 with MID; Victory Medal 1914-19 with MID; Belgian Croix de Guerre. 68 Sjt. A.F.Anderson 1/A.N.& M.E.F. on first medal, Major A.F.Anderson 1/A.N.& M.E.F. on second and third medals, last medal unnamed. Swing mounted as worn, good very fine.

Together with swing mounted matching set of miniatures missing MID emblem.

MID: LG 31/12/1918, p15229, posn 1; CAG 23/5/1919, p879, posn 57. Awarded for period 25Feb to 16Sep1918.

Recommendation: For consistent good work and efficiency since joining the Battalion in March 1916. He skilfully handled all works allotted to him as company commander, under arduous and dangerous conditions. He has on many occasions displayed great initiative in directing the construction of light railways, tunnels, and defence systems. His Company was engaged in carrying out Decaville work in the Ypres Salient during the months of October and September 1917, also on the Messines' defences and (record illegible) and again forming tracks and strong points at Liher and (record illegible) in August last. He has at all times shown a splendid example to his officers and men.

Charge: Conduct to the prejudice of good order and military discipline in that he, on or about 10.4.19, without authority, purported to sell certain German machinery to a Belgian civilian for 1300 francs. Finding: Guilty. Sentence: To take rank and precedence in the AIF as if his appointment bore the date 2.4.18.; Appointment terminated 07Nov1919.
