ANZAC COMMEMORATIVE MEDALLION 1915, issued in 1967, in bronze (50 x 75mm) (C.1915/3), named to W.H.Laird; also matching lapel badge named on reverse. In case of issue, extremely fine. (2)

Cpl William Henry Laird, messenger, age 22, born at Wynyard, Tasmania; Enl.28Aug1914 at Brighton, Tasmania in 12 Bn; Emb 20Oct1914; WIA 29Apr1915 at Gallipoli GSW arm; RTA 28Jul1915; Disch.10Apr1916.

In his letter dated 7 April 1967 (copy enclosed) applying for the medallion Laird stated, 'I was in the landing at Gallipoli on 25th April 1915 and wounded ther (sic).'
