QUEEN'S SOUTH AFRICA MEDAL 1899, (type 1 reverse), - three clasps - Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Transvaal. 3622 Pte F.T.A.Johnston, N:Zealand M.R. Impressed but surname incorrectly spelt, should be Johnstone. Light edge bruising, otherwise very fine.

Frederick Thomas Alexander Johnstone, carter, age 20, drafted from Canterbury Engineers, enlisted 13Jan1901; served in 6th Contingent; also entitled to clasps, South Africa 1901, South Africa 1902.
