ITALY, Calabria, Tarentum, (c.272-240 B.C.), silver nomos or stater, (6.16 g), obv. youth on horseback to left, placing wreath on horse's head, AP-**ISTIS* and anchor below, rev. Taras on dolphin, holding Nike and distaff, (cf.S.349-350, Vlasto 819, SNG ANS 1158, HN Italy 1020). Toned, very fine.
