HAROLD II, (1066), silver penny, Pax type, (1.33 grams), obv. crowned head left with sceptre, HAROLD REX ANG, rev. PAX across field around ROSCETF ON EOFER, (Roscetel of York mint), (S.1186, N.836, BMC.-). Toned, scratch on reverse, otherwise nearly extremely fine and rare.
Ex Henry E.Parkes (bought in London) and Dr John Marden Collection in 1915.
