NETHERLANDS, West Friesland, silver ducaton or silver rider, 1673, (32.43 g), struck at a private mint of Dirk Hosch in Enkhuizen, obv. rose MO. NO. ARG. CONFOED. BELG. PRO. WESTFRIS., knight on horseback brandishing a sword jumping over crowned arms of West Friesland, rev. 1673 CONCORDIA. RES. PARVAE CRESCVNT., crowned arms of the United Netherlands over small arms (three herrings) of Enkhuizen, (D.4941, KM.63.1). Delightful with superb blue and gold patination, nearly extremely fine, very scarce.
