TUBBO ESTATE COMPANY, printed financial statements for 1896, 1897, 1901, 1905, 1907-1909, 1911-1913, 1915-1921 and various other documents relating to Mrs Annie McFall of Kilkenny and asset distribution accounts for the estates of William Peter and James Kerr, all in the early 1900s. Tubbo Station, located near Whitton, still stands as one of the richest and largest grazing and sheep properties in the Riverina. It was established during the mid-1800s by a Scottish squatter, John Peter who took it from meagre beginnings to become almost a village within itself, consisting of seven smaller stations, a school, blacksmith and general store for its employees and their families. In 1887 the Tubbo Estate Company, an investment company, purchased Tubbo's 200,000 acre run from John Peter's Estate at a cost of over £361,000 and continued to operate it as predominantly a sheep station. In its first year of operation as a company, Tubbo Estate prided itself on its shearing output, clipping as many as 121,847 sheep, which was the third largest amount shorn in New South Wales. Tubbo Station is recognised for its historical significance since it is one of the few remaining stations that has managed to avoid losing much of its holdings to government subdivision and soldier settlement.
