TRIO TO POW: 1939-45 Star; War Medal 1939-45; Efficiency Medal (GVIR Indiae:Imp) with Territorial suspender. First two medals unnamed as issued, T.75887 .Sjt. J.McNeill. R.A.S.C. on last medal. Named medal impressed. The last medal with light hairlines, otherwise extremely fine.
Together with POW roll entry that shows Sjt J.McNeill, 75887, RASC as POW no.18656 at German POW camp, Stalag 383, located at Hohen Fels in Bavaria, Germany. Originally called Olag IIIC it was later renamed. Between September and the end of 1942 over 3,000 NCOs from camps all over Germany were held here and by April 1943 the number had exploded to 4,000.
