HMS NATAL TRIBUTE MEDAL, 1915, in silver (26mm), obverse, starboard broadside view of ship, above 'Presented to H.M.S.Natal', below '1915' within wreath, reverse, shield of the Colony supported by oak wreath, above 'From The People of/Natal', with suspension loop, edge inscribed, 'Lieut.Com. Robert B.Ramsey.' A few small edge nicks, otherwise good very fine.

HMAS Natal, a Warrior Class Cruiser, was gifted to the Royal Navy in 1905 by the people of the Colony of Natal. She was destroyed on 30 Dec 1915 at Cromarty Firth in Scotland in what was thought to be an internal explosion. There were 387 survivors from the ship's company of 704.
