AUSTRALIAN WWI DOG TAG, made from a Cairo souvenir medal in white metal (41mm), stippled and scratched on obverse '1916', and stippled on reverse, '2306 A.Cox/30 Batt./A.I.F. C.E./Mother/Fullerton/Cove/N.S.W.' and scratched near mother is 'Kin'. Good fine.
Together with Record of Service Book issued 4th January 1901 when Cox joined the Senior Cadets; last entry shows Discharged M.U. 7.2.1918 double amputation feet.
Archibald Cox, Hospital Attendant, age 20, born at Fullerton Cove near Stockton, Newcastle, NSW; Enl.14Sep1915 in 30 Bn; Emb.11Mar1916; served in France; 13Dec1916 to hospital with severe trench feet; 27Jun1917 amputated both feet; RTA 04Jan1918; Disch.07Feb1918 Medically Unfit.
