CONSTANTIUS II, (A.D. 337-361), gold solidus, Thessalonica mint, issued 347-355, (4.23 g), obv. pearl diademed, draped and cuirassed to right, around D N CONSTANTIVS MAX AVGVSTVS, rev. Roma and Constantinopolis seated enthroned facing, each support between them a shield inscibed VOT/XXX/ MVLT/XXXX around legend GLORIA REI PVBLICAE, in exergue *TES*, (cf.S.3988, cf.RIC 147 but legend of RIC 150 [R2-R3], C.114,122). Good fine, minor surface scratches and an unpublished RIC variety.
