MACEDON, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver obol, (0.69 g), Byblos mint, issued c.330-320 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin, dotted border, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, AR monogram to left, **ALEXANDR[OU]* to right, (cf.S.6736, cf.Price 3424 [tetradrachm], BMC -, M.-). Very fine, extremely rare and apparently unpublished.
