THESSALY, Thessalian League, (196-146 B.C.), silver double victoriatus, (5.30 g), Larissa mint, obv. head of Zeus to right, crowned with oak leaves, rev. Athena Itonia advancing to right, brandishing spear and holding shield, on sides **QESSAA LWN*, above across **[KE]F AL[OS]*, below **QEMISTO[..], (cf.S.2232, BMC 12). Porous surface, blue and gold patina, short on flan, otherwise fine - very fine.
