SCOTLAND, Lanarkshire, Port Glasgow, Alexander Stevens & Sons, four shillings and sixpence, on a Ferdinand VII, Mexico City Mint eight reales, 1813 countermarked with traces of 'A Stevens & Sons, + Pt. Glasgow' in a denticled circle around 4/6 within a small roped circle on the host coin's obverse, (Manville 89, Davis -). Coin good, countermark weak in places otherwise fine, and very rare.

Manville suggests the issue was early to mid 1820's, he records seven other known examples with this countermark.
