ANTONINUS PIUS, (A.D. 138-161), posthumous issue, silver denarius, Rome mint, issued 162, (3.38 g), obv. DIVVS ANTONINVS, bare headed bust, draped on left shoulder, to right of Antoninus Pius, rev. CONSECRATIO around, pyramidal crematorium of four storeys, garlanded base, surmounted by emperor in quadriga, (S.5193, RIC 438, RSC 164a). Lightly toned with steel blue highlights, good very fine and scarce.
