FIRST AUSTRALIAN EXHIBITION OF WOMENS WORK, Melbourne, 1907, in bronze (30mm) by Newman, obverse, arms of Lord Northcote, Governor General of Australia, reverse, Highest/Award For/ (inscribed) Rings/F.Nth.SS "B". Some small edge nicks, otherwise very fine.
Lady Northcote was sponsor of this exhibition that was held in the Melbourne Exhibition Building with the opening ceremony on 23 October 1907. The exhibition continued for almost six weeks and included approximately 16,000 exhibits.
