Clement Fairfax Morrisby, age 18, station hand, born at Goulburn, NSW; Enl.20Dec1915 at Moree; Emb.04May1916 ex Sydney; L/Cpl 10Apr1917; Cpl 02Jun1917; T/Sgt 04Aug1917; Sgt 01Nov1917; WIA on three occasions the last time a GSW to the head on 31Aug1918 during fighting near Mont St Quentin; DOW 04Sep1918 at 3rd Stationery Hospital, Boulogne; In a report on his death, one of his fellow soldiers, Cpl H.H.Weekes, 976, 33Bn C Coy made the following statement, 'He was leading his men at the time he was hit; the enemy were in a trench about 30 yards in front. He was a good, game soldier.'; Buried at St Sever Cemetery Extension, Rouen.
