4TH REGIMENT NSW VOLUNTEER INFANTRY, hat badge in bronze (1890s-1903); pair of voided, oval, brass titles with 4 in centre and Australian Infantry around; pair of voided, brass titles of 4 over AIR; Inf title in bronze; Australian Commonwealth EVIIR buttons in brass (4, 2 large and 2 small); pin back shield cut from sterling silver sheet and inscribed 'M.H.S/En/Avant' (Maitland High School). Very fine. (11)

4th Regiment NSW Volunteer Infantry was based at Newcastle with companies in outlying districts such as Maitland.
