SICILY, Akragas (Agrigentum), (c.495-480/478 B.C.), silver didrachm, Jenkins Group III, (8,57 g), obv. eagle with closed wings standing to left, AKRA behind, CA**S* upwards in front, rev. crab within circular incuse field, (cf.S.709A, cf.Jenkins (Gela) Group III, cf.Pl.37,6, SNG Lockett 703, SNG ANS 937 [similar dies]). Good very fine with light patination, a rare variety.
